The Story
Caravaggio's "Supper at Emmaus" inspired the artist to create her sculptural installation, "Emmaus's Hand." This silver-plated bronze work depicts the right hand of Emmaus, a homage to the painter's powerful compositions. The suspended globe bulb playfully references Caravaggio's masterful use of chiaroscuro, a technique that translates literally from Italian as "light-dark," highlighting the interplay of light and shadow that defines his iconic style. This installation embodies the essence of the original painting, inviting viewers to reflect on the themes of revelation and illumination.
