The Story
An artist's unique vision for an occasional table. Part of the serpent series, dreamed, drawn and sculpted by the artist as an ode to ancient mythologies and archaeological treasures. The Gilt Serpent has an ancient distressed lacquer finish supporting a top cut from the rarest of British stones, Ball Eye Blue. Ball Eye Blue is an unique vein of Limestone-Fluorite conglomerate, quarried in Derbyshire, with a rare palette, roving from whites and silver to amethysts and Royal Blue.

“We realised that if we could craft unique artisanal design to the highest quality, we might be creating the antiques of the future.”
CHRISTOPHER COX
Ball Eye Serpent is a unique creation, conceived as an occasional table that reflects the artist's distinct vision. Part of the Serpent Series, this piece was dreamed, drawn, and sculpted as a tribute to ancient mythologies and archaeological wonders.
The gilded serpent base, finished with a distressed lacquer, supports a top crafted from the rarest of British stones—Ball Eye Blue. This distinctive vein of Limestone-Fluorite conglomerate, quarried in Derbyshire, features a striking and rare palette that transitions from soft whites and silvers to rich amethyst and royal blue hues. It’s fitting that one of the first editions of this piece was acquired by the prestigious Chatsworth House collection in Derbyshire.
