The Story
Fascinated by a rare medieval bronze altar the duo of sculptors were moved to create the Alchemist. The art work is raised on four naturalistic, rock-like feet with another four upturned to support the top. The main body is pierced with holes, each one edged with dark forged iron rings. Perhaps this is where amulets, or talismans, were once fixed and since lost. The large-ranging top tier, sacrificial in scale, supports three sections of rare British stone Ashburton, Devon.
Sculpted and cast in lost wax bronze with bronzed iron and brass construction this is a unique artst's edition.
