Cox London are designers and makers of unique sculptural lighting, furniture, and artworks of the highest calibre. We are commissioned by celebrated interior decorators, collectors and discerning private individuals worldwide, and work with a deep respect for materials and traditional craftsmanship, resulting in sculptural works that are as functional as they are poetic.
We are seeking an ambitious and talented CAD Designer/Design Engineer to join our high-performing Design & Estimation team. The ideal candidate will ideally have previous professional experience using Autodesk Inventor, (or SolidWorks / similar parametric software), and a good grasp of metal fabrication techniques.
As an important member of our energetic and sociable team, you’ll work closely with our fabrication and production departments, developing detailed CAD models and accurate production and supplier drawings across our full collection. - Liaise with colleagues in the Design and Estimation team to fully support a range of artworks flowing through our busy department.
- Communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders regarding fabrication processes and improvements.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new product innovations (NPI) and development projects.
- Maintain design documentation and revision control for all active projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Product Design, Product Design Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Experience in generating precise and comprehensive production and supplier packs, featuring fully dimensioned components and assembly drawings, bills of material, and strong revision control processes.
- Understanding of lighting systems and electrical components.
- Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, verbal and visual.
- Detail-oriented, with a practical and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- A strong interest in visual art and design and a passion for craftsmanship and well-resolved outcomes.
- Proactive with a can-do attitude and plenty of curiosity.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
- Flexible and positive attitude, with a can-do approach to problem-solving.
- High standard of discretion and professionalism.
